Some people in the trans community are very sensitive about even sharing their birth names, much less before and after film from surgeries. Having my family behind me-having my two amazing brothers and my father back me up on every decision I made, even though sometimes they might not have agreed with it-was an absolute blessing. I didn’t know, going into this, that it was going to be focused so intensely on family, but I’m glad that it is because it turned out to be a love story between my family and I.
